Everest Base Camp via Jiri, Nepal Part 1. Episode 67

21 days is a long time to trek solo, and especially if the trek involves Mt Everest Base Camp via Jiri, the traditional route. It will require days and days of hot steamy valleys punctuated with 4-5K passes and that is just to reach the normal jump off point in Lukla. In this episode I get my first view of mighty Everest. I also get my first taste of the Maoist voluntary taxation system imposed on tourist trekkers. Even in such remote parts of the mountains, the tax man thrives.
