How to Trek Alta Via 2, Dolomite’s, Italy Part 1.2, Episode 139

This is a how to trek Alta Via 2 in the Italian Dolomite’s (the northern half) video, Part 1 of 2 (see blog for details). I broke the 13-day trek in two parts because of a knee injury. In this video I continue the trek from the road Passo Garena on day 3. The trek then heads up high past Refugio Pisciadu and more passes. Due to a summer ice storm I decide to spend the night at Refugio Boe. The next cold morning I make it down to Passo Pordoi and then start the traverse to the foot of glacier Marmolada and then call a timeout at Refugio Castiglioni. Two weeks later I return to the base of the glacier to find early winter weather.
